The Training Unit
A small team trains the staff of the Court of Session and High Court of Justiciary. The team consists of the training manager and one full time training officer who are stationed permanently within the Supreme Courts .
The functions of the Training Unit include
- co-ordination and preparation of technical training;
- arranging local delivery of training;
- ensuring that training provided is cost effective;
- preparation and management of the training plan for Depute Clerks; and
- identifying training, which is required due to legislative changes (in consultation with senior department heads).
The Training Team also works closely with other organisations on various initiatives which seek to improve the service the Supreme Courts and Scottish Court Service provide.
